Privacy policy

Hosting platform page-view measurement. Our hosting platform adds its own scripts to every page. Each time you view a page, they send a page-view measurement, which may include the page address, the referring site, and basic browser and device information, to an address on this same domain (/__l5e/trackevents). We use it to see which pages are visited. Your choice in the cookie banner does not change this.

Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-RZN7842NM7). The Google tag loads only if you have clicked Accept in the cookie banner. What happens depends on your choice:

• Before you choose, or if you click Decline: the Google tag does not load and nothing is sent to Google. If you click Decline after accepting, the tag is switched off and stops sending data right away.
• After you click Accept: the Google tag loads and analytics storage is allowed. Google Analytics sets two cookies on this site, _ga and _ga_RZN7842NM7, which last about 400 days. They hold an identifier that lets Google Analytics link your page views on this site together.

Even after you accept, advertising storage, advertising user data and ad personalisation stay denied, and each message asks Google not to use it for personalised advertising. Google handles this data under its own privacy policy. Google also explains how it uses information from sites that use its services.

Ahrefs Web Analytics. We also use Ahrefs Web Analytics to measure aggregate site traffic. Ahrefs states that Web Analytics uses no cookies and does not collect personal data. In our own testing it set no cookies on this site.

Contact form submissions. If you write to us we store the name, email address, subject and message you send, plus the time, a one-way-hashed form of your IP address and your browser's user-agent string. The hash and user-agent exist only to stop automated spam. We keep the message so we can reply and so we can trace a data correction back to its source.

Server logs. Standard request logs, kept short-term for security and debugging.

We do not ask for accounts, passwords, addresses or payment details. No purchase is ever completed on this site, so we never see your payment information.

Google Analytics cookies. The _ga and _ga_RZN7842NM7 cookies are set only after you click Accept in the cookie banner, and last about 400 days. If you make no choice or click Decline, they are not set. If you click Decline after accepting, they are deleted. This site sets no advertising cookie.

Affiliate tracking cookies. Some outbound links are affiliate links. When you click one, the retailer or affiliate network sets a cookie in your browser so any resulting purchase is attributed to RobotMatchup. That cookie is set by them, on their terms, and typically lasts from 24 hours to 30 days depending on the programme. It records that a referral happened — not what you browse elsewhere on our site.

Functional storage. Your comparison selection is held in your own browser's local storage so it survives page navigation. It never reaches our server.

Infrastructure cookies. Our network provider sets a cookie of its own (__cf_bm), which lasts about 30 minutes, to tell automated traffic from real visitors. It is security infrastructure rather than analytics. Our hosting platform also sets a short-lived hosting/deployment cookie (__dpl), which lasts about one day.

Changing your cookie choice. To change your choice at any time, use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page.

This site does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals. Google Analytics runs only if you click Accept; use the cookie banner or the Cookie settings link to control it.

You can block or clear cookies in your browser at any time. Blocking them does not limit any part of this site — nothing here is gated.

Google provides Google Analytics, which receives the page-view data described above only if you click Accept. No advertising or social network tag runs on this site. Google Search Console gives us search performance data and sets no cookie on your visit. Affiliate networks and retailers — such as Amazon Associates and similar networks — are involved only when you click an outbound affiliate link. Our hosting, analytics and database providers process page requests, record the aggregate visitor statistics described above, and store contact submissions on our behalf.

Each of those parties has its own privacy policy governing what it does with data it collects. We do not share your contact submission with any of them.

Contact submissions: up to 24 months, then deleted. Analytics: held by our hosting platform as aggregate visitor statistics. Google Analytics cookies, set only if you click Accept, last about 400 days in your browser. Google Analytics keeps the event data it receives for up to 14 months. Server logs: weeks, not years.

Email contact@robotmatchup.com from the address you contacted us with, and ask for a copy of what we hold or for it to be deleted. Deletion is done manually and permanently, normally within 30 days. There is no form to fill in and no reason required.

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of the page changes with it. See also the terms of use and the affiliate disclosure.
