Privacy policy

Browsing analytics. Aggregate usage data — pages viewed, referring site, approximate region, device and browser type. This is used to understand which pages are useful. It is not used to build a profile of you and is not sold.

Contact form submissions. If you write to us we store the name, email address, subject and message you send, plus the time, a one-way-hashed form of your IP address and your browser's user-agent string. The hash and user-agent exist only to stop automated spam. We keep the message so we can reply and so we can trace a data correction back to its source.

Server logs. Standard request logs, kept short-term for security and debugging.

We do not ask for accounts, passwords, addresses or payment details. No purchase is ever completed on this site, so we never see your payment information.

Analytics cookies. If site analytics are active, an analytics cookie records an anonymous visitor identifier so repeat visits are not counted as new people.

Affiliate tracking cookies. Some outbound links are affiliate links. When you click one, the retailer or affiliate network sets a cookie in your browser so any resulting purchase is attributed to RobotMatchup. That cookie is set by them, on their terms, and typically lasts from 24 hours to 30 days depending on the programme. It records that a referral happened — not what you browse elsewhere on our site.

Functional storage. Your comparison selection is held in your own browser's local storage so it survives page navigation. It never reaches our server.

You can block or clear cookies in your browser at any time. Blocking them does not limit any part of this site — nothing here is gated.

Google Analytics (Google LLC) for aggregate traffic measurement, when enabled. Google Search Console for search performance data, which uses no cookies on your visit. Affiliate networks and retailers — such as Amazon Associates and similar networks — when you click an outbound affiliate link. Our hosting and database providers process page requests and store contact submissions on our behalf.

Each of those parties has its own privacy policy governing what it does with data it collects. We do not share your contact submission with any of them.

Contact submissions: up to 24 months, then deleted. Analytics data: retained according to the analytics provider's configured retention, currently the shortest practical setting. Server logs: weeks, not years.

Email contact@robotmatchup.com from the address you contacted us with, and ask for a copy of what we hold or for it to be deleted. Deletion is done manually and permanently, normally within 30 days. There is no form to fill in and no reason required.

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of the page changes with it. See also the terms of use and the affiliate disclosure.
