Why capacity and warranty, not odor, set the order
Odor-control descriptions vary from a carbon filter to a sealed drawer, a deodorising spray module or an ioniser, and makers describe them in their own words with no common test. Comparing those words as if they were scores would invent a result. Drawer capacity is published as a number, and a sealed drawer that holds more waste is emptied less often; warranty length is also a published number. Those are the only two figures this order uses.
Models that publish an odor-control method but no drawer capacity or warranty are still listed, placed after the models that do publish those figures.
Limitations of this list
Nothing here has been used in a home by RobotMatchup. Smell depends on litter type, how often the drawer is emptied, the number of cats and room ventilation, none of which a spec sheet captures. A model with no published odor-control method is excluded from this page, not judged to be worse at it.
